Karakol, Kyrgyzstan

Karakol town is situated 400 km from the capital of Kyrgyzstan. It is a calm town with many old Russian houses. The matter is that in 1869 there was an order from Tsarist Government to build there a military center. Then Kyrgyz people also started to settle in this place.

 

Karakol is not a big town but it has some highlights to visit. The most famous are Orthodox Church, Dungan mosque and the museum of M.V. Prezhevalsky.
