Trekking tour: TR-01 Details
Destination: Kyrgyzstan
Day 1: Bishkek - Chon Kemin
Your guide will meet you at Manas International Airport and accompany you to Bishkek City (30 min. drive), where you will start the day with a breakfast. The entire day is dedicated to a guided Bishkek City Tour, including lunch. The tour includes the visiting of the central Ala-Too Square, Duboviy Park (Oak Park), Pobeda Square (Victory Square), the History Museum, National philharmonic, Oriental Bazaar, Art Gallery and many others places of interest. Then you will be transferred to the Chon Kemin valley, where you also will spend the night in a guesthouse. On the way we will visit the Burana Tower (minaret of the 11 century) and its attached open air museum of Balbans (stone warriors).
Day 2: Chon Kemin - Tamga village
Breakfast is served at 7 o'clock. Afterwards, you will start your trip to Tamga (380 km,6h) by car. On the way, we will drive through the stunning Boom gorge. Then will continue our way to Tamga village along the southern shore of the celestial Issyk-Kul Lake, which is second largest mountain lake in the world (1608 m. above sea level). The Lake is also known as "the pearl of Central Asia". Dinner will be served in the Tamga Guesthouse, where you will also spend the night.
Day 3: Tamga - Jukku gorge - pass Jukku
After a strengthening breakfast we leave the Guesthouse at 8 o'clock by car that brings us to the entrance of the gorge Jukka. From there we will hike through the gorge until we arrive at the foot of the pass Jukka. You will take lunch on the way. Jukku is the place of Kyrgyz nomadic shepherds. You will meet real nomads who still live in yurts and to try national drink Kumis (alcohol mare's milk). Your dinner will be in the open air. And you will spend the night in tents in wild nature.
Day 4: Pass Jukku - Ak-Shirak
In the morning the hiking over the pass Jukku, and then you will have lunch. Afterwards you will continue your hiking along the Silk Road (7hours) inside the Ak Shirak mountain range (average level is 3680m above sea). Ak-Shirak is famous for its mountain Chokoli lakes. All of them find their origin in glaciers. There is a marvelous view over the majority of these lakes. After your dinner you will spend the night in yurts near these lakes.
Day 5-7: Syrty Ak-Shirak (3000m above sea level)
From Ak Shirak, it is a 3-days-hike along the southern side of the Terskey Ala-Too Mountains to reach the foot of glacier Ashu-Tor. (3600-4200m).During this unforgettable trip you will also see our gorgeous Ara-Belsu Lake. Ak-Shirak is the place where ancient traders were hiding from robberies. It seems that good spirits look after you there. All nights are in traditional nomadic collapsible dwellings - yurts. They are made of felt and wooden frame without a single nail.
Day 8: Gorge Ashu-Tor
After a strengthening breakfast you will hike over the pass Ashu-Tor (4000m.) At this place you will overlook the Ashu-Tor glacier, while having a picnic. Then you will approach the Ara-Belsu Lake before starting the descent to Ashu-Tor gorge by passing through the stunning Northern Ashu-Tor valley (7 Hours, 3250m). Overnight in tents.
Day 9: Gorge Ashu-Tor - Gorge Chon-Kyzyl-Suu
After packing your backpacks, you will be served breakfast at 8 o'clock before you start your 7 hours hike down to the Chon Kyzyl Suu valley and the old geophysics station (2650m). You will spend the night in yurts as nomads do. A yurta is made of felt and wooden frame without a single nail. It is a collapsible dwelling of nomads. It takes only few hours to erect and to collapse, respectively.
Day 10: Gorge Chon-Kyzyl-Suu - Bishkek
Breakfast is served at 8 o'clock. In the morning, we'll guide you down to the hot water springs of Jeli Suu. After taking lunch you will be transferred to Bishkek (350km) by car along the southern shore of celestial Issyk Kul Lake (1600m.ab.s.l.) via the magnificent Boom gorge. You will arrive in Bishkek at a guesthouse at around 7 pm, where you will have time for yourself until your pick up at 8 pm. Then you will have a farewell dinner in a restaurant.
Day 11: Bishkek
Your guide will meet you at the guesthouse at the pick up time arranged previously according to your flight details and accompany you to Manas International Airport.
